This study was carried out to determine the conditions under which the Porto Santo Golf Course could be concessioned to a private organisation. The concession foresees, in addition to the operation of the current golf infrastructure, the construction and operation of an additional nine-hole golf course by the same developer, to be built on land owned by the grantor adjacent to the current infrastructure.
Main tasks: History of the construction and operation of the Porto Santo golf course, trends in the European golf industry, the golf industry in Portugal; comparison of Porto Santo Golfe with the national average, the new operational concept, the project, the commercial strategy, the management and control of the business, the level of investment required, economic analysis from the concessionaire's perspective, economic evaluation from the grantor's perspective, sensitivity analysis based on a Monte Carlo simulation with 1,000 iterations, conclusions and recommendations.
